John R. Ashmead is a partner in Seward & Kissel's Bankruptcy and Corporate Reorganization Group. Mr. Ashmead�s expertise spans workouts, chapter 11 cases (and foreign insolvency proceedings), bankruptcy/distressed acquisitions, bankruptcy related litigation, structured financial transactions and private equity investments. He represents lenders, other creditors, equity holders, acquirers, hedge funds, as well as directors and members of formal and informal stakeholder committees. Mr. Ashmead received a B.S. in 1987 from St. John�s University and a J.D. in 1990 from Brooklyn Law School, where he was Notes Editor of the Brooklyn Law Review. Mr. Ashmead was a law clerk to the Honorable Cornelius Blackshear, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, S.D.N.Y., from 1990-1992. Mr. Ashmead is a member of the bars of the States of New York, Florida and Vermont and has appeared before Bankruptcy Courts in New York, Delaware, Illinois, Arizona, Ohio, Florida, Texas, New Jersey, Connecticut, Georgia and Wisconsin. He has authored several articles in the bankruptcy and restructuring area. Mr. Ashmead is a Fellow of the American College of Investment Counsel. |
