John S. Davis is a Managing Director in MLA�s Dallas office where he is a member of the firm�s In-House Practice Group.
Prior to joining MLA, John was General Counsel and executive officer of three different public companies in the Dallas, Texas area, including Carreker Corporation (Nasdaq: CANI), a software and consulting company in the banking industry; Dave & Buster�s, Inc. (NYSE: DAB), an international restaurant/entertainment chain; and Cameron Ashley Building Products Inc. (NYSE: CAB), a large North American building products distributor. John�s experience managing the legal departments for these diverse public companies provides valuable insight for clients and candidates in the area of senior level in-house and law firm placements.
John also previously served as in-house counsel for Electronic Data Systems Corporation, where he specialized in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and international transactions. Prior to EDS, he was also a corporate and securities lawyer with law firms Jackson Walker and Thompson & Knight in Dallas.
John received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Texas at Austin. He was born, raised and still resides in Dallas, has two sons in college and in his spare time enjoys golf, basketball, physical fitness, music and following (fanatically some would say) Texas Longhorn sports. |
