Mr. Tolmie joined Cypress Associates following his employment at OutPurchase.com where he was Vice President in charge of Corporate Development. At OutPurchase, Mr. Tolmie was heavily involved in the capital raising process and development of strategic relationships with marketing partners including American Express, ADP, All Bases Covered and Epicor Software. Prior to OutPurchase, Mr. Tolmie was an Associate in the investment banking group of Furman Selz LLC where he focused primarily on M&A and financial sponsor coverage in a wide range of industries, including media and entertainment, insurance and industrial manufacturing. Representative M&A transactions include the sale of United Video Satellite Group to TCI, the sale by General Electric of Patrick Media Group to Eller Media and Hellman & Friedman, the sale of Mauna Loa Nut Corp. to the Shansby Group, the sale of Titan Holdings to USF&G, the acquisition of Financial Benefit Group by AmVestors and the sale of Naegle Outdoor Advertising to Universal Outdoor. Other transactions included initial public offerings and other financings for Young & Rubicam, CCA Holdings (a subsidiary of Charter Communications), Teltrend, Kuhlman Corp. and Genesee & Wyoming. Mr. Tolmie also performed a large number of valuation analyses, both for fairness opinions and for other purposes. Mr. Tolmie received his B.A. Cum Laude from Harvard College. |
