In 2000, John Barton joined the Parkway team and focused his efforts on joint ventures, acquisitions, leasing, and operations. He currently serves as asset manager for Parkway's office buildings in Atlanta, Richmond, and Hampton Roads, all of which comprise approximately 2.7 million square feet. He has also served as asset manager for Parkway's Nashville and Knoxville markets.
Prior to joining Parkway, Barton served as asset manager for approximately 2 million square feet of office space, underwrote and negotiated CMBS loans totaling approximately $300 million, and practiced business law (including real estate).
In 1991, John was graduated magna cum laude from Southern Methodist University (B.A., political science; minor in business), where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and named Outstanding Senior Scholar. In 1994, Barton received a Juris Doctor degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law, where he was elected to Who's Who Among American Law Students and named Winner of the Negotiations Competition and Co-Captain of the Negotiations Team.
