John W. Mayers is vice president Textron Six Sigma and Transformation for Textron Inc. In this role, Mayers partners with Textron business units to implement critical enterprise-wide Textron Six Sigma processes and systems to improve business performance. Mayers serves on Textron's Transformation Leadership Team, comprised of the top executives of the corporation, and is chair of the Textron Six Sigma Council.
Mayers most recently served as executive vice president of Textron Six Sigma for Textron Financial (TFC), a position he assumed in January 2002. In this critical role, he oversaw the advancement of Textron Six Sigma throughout TFC, significantly exceeding the company's savings targets.
In his 18 years at Textron, Mayers has held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility, including president of TFC's Services Group, executive vice president of corporate development and vice president and treasurer of TFC, as well as vice president of risk management and insurance and environmental health & safety for Textron.
Before joining Textron in 1986, Mayers served as project manager for Peat, Marwick, Mitchell and Company. Mayers holds B.A. and M.S. degrees from Purdue University. |
