Too often, clients are prone to litigation. Lawyers are in a unique position to encourage and persuade toward compromise and non-court resolution. It does not always work, but it is always worth the effort.
John W. Palmer is "of counsel" with Jones Waldo. His practice in the St. George office focuses on estate planning, real property, business organizations, adoptions, guardianship, and municipal matters. Before joining Jones Waldo in 1987, he managed a solo practice in St. George, serving as counsel for the Washington County School District for 34 years, as the St. George city attorney for 16 years, and city counsel for several communities for approximately 30 years. Immediately prior to achieving "of counsel" status with Jones Waldo, he taught English and law courses for one year at the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Guangzhou, China.
John is involved in community affairs, currently serving on the board of directors of the Zions Natural History Association. He has received the Southern Utah Bar Association�s distinguished service award.
John was born in Cannonville, Garfield County, Utah. After high school, he served for four years in the U.S. Air Force before returning to college. He graduated from Brigham Young University in 1957 and from the University of Utah College of Law in 1963. He has membership in the Utah State Bar, the U.S. District Court, and the Utah Supreme Court. He has received an "AV" rating from Martindale-Hubbell. |
