John Baker serves as Executive Vice President and Global Practice Leader, Life Sciences Technology for DHR International, operating out of the firm�s Boston office. Leveraging more than 25 years in the healthcare environment, Mr. Baker focuses on senior executive and direct report level assignments within the life sciences sector. He has worked with venture-backed, development stage, and high-growth publicly held companies across the device, diagnostic, biotech, pharmaceutical, eHealth, and healthcare technology markets. Mr. Baker establishes himself as a trusted partner to his clients through his consultative approach, strong work ethic, deep industry knowledge and extensive professional network. During the discovery process, Mr. Baker strives to gain an accurate understanding of his clients� critical success factors and long-term business strategies. This allows him to apply his operational background and leadership assessment skills into talent acquisition and partner identification that augment and strengthen those key areas. In many instances, he has been able to introduce clients to business development opportunities that have added to the growth of their business. Mr. Baker has conducted assignments for such companies as Philips Medical, Ausam Biotechnologies, Genova Diagnostics, Quest Diagnostics, Ensemble Discovery, IDEXX Laboratories, Nanodisc and more. Prior to joining DHR International, Mr. Baker served as a Managing Partner for Highland Partners, where he refined his assessment of general management talent and leadership of successful organizations. Previously, Mr. Baker held various sales, marketing, and operational roles within the medical device, diagnostic and laboratory services industries, including Vice President, Corporate Healthcare for Quest Diagnostics and Director, Corporate Accounts for Hewlett-Packard Medical Products Group (nka Philips Medical Systems). His early career included positions with Beckman Coulter. A member of the Massachusetts Medical Device Association, Mr. Baker earned his Bachelor�s degree in Biology and Chemistry from Alma College in Michigan. Additionally, he completed post-graduate work in General Management and Marketing at the University of Minnesota and Northwestern Universities. Mr. Baker has been active in his local Pop Warner program and has served as President of his community�s Football Booster�s. He has coached his son�s football and daughter�s basketball teams, and enjoys golf and tennis. |
