John Brannan is responsible for leveraging EnCana's Canadian frontier and international new venture activities so that the corporation is well-positioned to pursue large, value-creating opportunities. His team is focused on a select number of larger prospects in these areas that are consistent with company goals. John has more than 27 years of experience in drilling, production operations and project management across all aspects of oil and gas operations, in a variety of domestic and international locations. John joined the company in 2001 as Senior Vice-President for International Technical Service and Projects and was responsible for the development of Buzzard discovery and transition to operatorship of the Scott and Telford fields prior to the divestiture of the company's UK assets in 2004. John assumed his current position in 2003. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M, and is a member of APEGGA and the Association of Petroleum Engineers of Nova Scotia. John is the Chair for EnCana's 2006 gEnerate technical summit and the Executive team sponsor for EnCana's Communities of Practice.
