As senior vice president of the Platform Business Unit, John Brennan leads Adobe�s Platform Business Unit, which is focused on advancing the company�s software platform for the creation and delivery of engaging applications and content to any desktop or device. In directing the activities of the Platform BU, Brennan oversees a portfolio of critical technologies including Adobe� Flash� Player, Adobe Reader�, PDF and the new cross-operating system application runtime code-named "Apollo". Brennan is responsible for Adobe�s platform services initiatives, business development and customer adoption programs, and strategic investments.
Brennan joined Adobe as senior vice president of corporate development and strategy in 2004, where he managed and drove Adobe�s strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions. He was a driving force behind Adobe�s acquisition of Macromedia in 2005, firmly establishing Adobe as one of the world�s largest and most diversified software companies. In addition, Brennan directed the activities of the Creative Professional Business Unit Adobe�s largest business in an operating capacity through most of 2005.
Prior to joining Adobe, Brennan served as senior vice president of worldwide small and medium business operations for Hewlett-Packard. In that role, Brennan was responsible for the sales and marketing of the portfolio of products targeted at the SMB segment. Brennan previously led HP�s corporate development, including overall planning and related corporate investment activities. Prior to HP, Brennan helped lead the Electronics & High-Tech Practice as a consultant for Accenture, where he served high-tech companies in both a strategy and solutions role.
