John Cummings, i2 senior vice president and chief marketing officer, is responsible for defining i2�s brand, strategic marketing, lead generation, and communications strategies, as well as for building winning competitive strategies, refining the i2 product mix, defining new solutions, and evaluating expansion into new markets.
Throughout his career, Cummings has witnessed first-hand the challenges companies face when seeking optimal performance from their supply chains. His involvement at all levels from end user to consultant has helped many companies gain a competitive advantage through the use of supply chain technology. Today he is recognized throughout the supply chain industry as a thought leader, and uses his expertise to help i2 build and market its next-generation of supply chain management solutions.
Cummings joined i2 in July 2005 from BearingPoint (formerly KPMG Consulting), one of the world�s largest business consulting, systems integration, and managed services firms, where he was managing director of the firm�s Global Supply Chain Practice. As managing director he was the engagement partner for several business process strategy and transformation projects for Fortune 500 clients in multiple industries ranging from retail to industrial manufacturing.
In addition to his six years at BearingPoint, Cummings spent two years as a director and manager in Oracle Corporation�s Industrial Sector Supply Chain Practice. He spent 12 years at United Parcel Service, working in a variety of positions in the company�s operations, finance, accounting, and human resources divisions, and played a significant role in the start-up of UPS Worldwide Logistics, which is now UPS Supply Chain Solutions. Prior to UPS, Cummings spent two years with IBM working in distribution/warehousing and PC manufacturing.
Cummings earned bachelor�s and master�s degrees in economics from the University of Texas at Austin. |
