Mr. Hoopingarner joined Emergent Technologies, Inc. in May 2000, as Vice-President, New Business Development. His primary responsibilities were developing markets for MedSynergy and identifying and developing new opportunities for potential commercialization using the Emergent Technologies business model. In May, 2001, he was promoted to Executive Vice President, Portfolio Companies Operations and in this assignment directs the routine business between the companies, their university partner, and their clients. His business development experience comes from the upstream oil and gas services industry in various domestic and foreign assignments for Dresser Industries and Brown & Root. He also served in several managerial positions in operations, sales, engineering, and personnel development for SEDCO Inc. and Sedco Forex-Schlumberger around the world. Mr. Hoopingarner is currently serving in his second year on the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce Bioscience-UT Facilitation Subcommittee and on the Technical Business Network Bioscience Initiative Steering Committee. He also serves on the Oklahoma Health Center Foundation CEO Committee. He has previously chaired committees for the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) and presented technical papers at two SPE-IADC drilling conferences. He served the American community in Aberdeen, Scotland, as the BSA troop scoutmaster for five years. He is also a charter member of the Offshore Energy Center, Galveston, Texas. Mr. Hoopingarner earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Southern Methodist University. |
