Mr. Joyce joined Silver Lake in July 2005 and is a Managing Director. He has significant experience in managing all aspects of finance and operations for a global technology firm. Mr. Joyce joined IBM in 1975, and was most recently Senior Vice President and Group Executive of the IBM Global Services (IGS) division, the world's largest information technology services and consulting provider. From 1999 to 2004, Mr. Joyce was IBM's Chief Financial Officer, during which time he played a role in the sale of IBM's personal computer business to Lenovo, marking one of the first major acquisitions of a U.S. company by a Chinese company, as well as in IBM's acquisition of the global business consulting and technology services practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mr. Joyce also managed IBM Global Financing. Prior to becoming CFO in 1999, he was President, IBM Asia Pacific, responsible for providing business direction and strategy for IBM's 19 country operations across the Asia/Pacific region, including China and India. Mr. Joyce also served as Vice President and Controller for IBM's global operations, and was part of the team responsible for the successful reengineering of IBM in the mid-1990s. Mr. Joyce is a director of Gartner, Inc., and Avago Technologies Ltd. He is also a member of each of Bertelsmann AG Supervisory Board, Fairfield University Board of Trustees, and Chairman of The Council for The United States and Italy. |
