John is responsible for coordinating all field manpower between projects, monitoring of schedules and quality and keeping a close eye on safety and cleanliness of all job sites. John and his brother Tom Murphy, Jr., co-founded Coastal Construction Company and have worked together their entire adult lives. John had directed all field operations of the company from its inception. After 20 years in the construction business, John decided to "retire" in 1995, moving his family to Montana to enjoy the "Great Northwest" and a less hectic pace than that of South Florida. Fortunately, in 1998 we managed to convince him to return to South Florida and head up our field operations. "I am very pleased that John has agreed to expand his role in our organization," said brother Tom. "He is my best friend and is, without question, the best builder I ever met." Prior to joining Tom in the construction business in 1975, John cut his teeth in the business working for his father, Tom Murphy, Sr., and serving four years in the United States Navy Seabees' construction battalion. |
