John Thornton joined AlterPoint�s Board of Directors in May of 2002. Mr. Thornton has been with Austin Ventures since 1991 and focuses on the firm�s Software investment area. Previously, Mr. Thornton was with McKinsey & Co., where he served clients in the U.S. and Europe. He has worked with companies such as Active Power (NASDAQ: ACPW), Dazel (NYSE: HP), Metasolv (NASDAQ: MSLV), Mission Critical (NASDAQ: NTIQ), Vignette (NASDAQ: VIGN), Motive, Pentasafe (NASDAQ: NTIQ), and Waveset (NASDAQ: SUNW). Mr. Thornton received his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and his BA summa cum laude from Trinity University, where he graduated first in his class. He is a founding board member of the Austin Entrepreneur�s Foundation and a trustee of Trinity University and the Austin Museum of Art. |
