Jon Turner balances his role as the Firm's managing partner with client responsibilities in many different industries, including financial institutions, manufacturing, insurance, retail, wholesale distribution, healthcare and services to law firms and lenders. While he guides clients in accounting and tax planning matters, he is called on regularly for his insight in making key decisions that affect clients' profitability and achievement of their long-range goals. Jon provides expert consultation on merger and acquisition efforts, loan negotiations, business succession planning and development of client specific business strategies. Jon is a member of the Advisory Board of the Chicago based Institute of Commercial Lending Advisors and has conducted numerous seminars for lending officers. His articles on law firm, lending and general financial topics have been published in The Mississippi Lawyer, The Commercial Lending Report and the Firm's newsletter Financial Perspectives. He is a member of the AICPA's Management Consulting Division, the local chapter of Robert Morris Associates (RMA) and the Institute of Profit Advisors. Additionally, Jon has served on the Audit and Accounting committee of the Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants. Jon has served as President of the Jackson Academy Board of Trustees and served terms on the Northside YMCA and Metropolitan YMCA Boards of Management. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Community Foundation of Greater Jackson. Previously, he served on the Administrative Board and as finance chairman and treasurer of Christ United Methodist Church. Jon is an active member of the Rotary Club of North Jackson and a Paul Harris Fellow. He is graduate of the Mississippi Economic Council's "Leadership Mississippi" program.
Jon is a Past-President (2004-2005) of the National Ole Miss Alumni Association, and is a member of the University of Mississippi Foundation Board of Directors. He serves on the University's E. H. Patterson School of Accountancy Professional Advisory Council, and is serving as co-chairman of the Ole Miss First Scholarship Endowment component of the $200 million MomentUM Campaign. He is a Past-President of the Central Mississippi Ole Miss Alumni Club and was a co-founder of the Rebel Club of Jackson. He has served three terms as an appointed member of the Institutions of Higher Learning (College Board) Inter-Alumni Council, which provides a unified voice for Mississippi's eight public universities. Jon also serves as an alumnus advisor to his college fraternal organization, Kappa Alpha Order, and was awarded the "Knight Commander's Accolade" by the group's national organization in 2001 and honored as "Alumnus of the Year" by the active chapter in 2003. A native of Belzoni, Mississippi, Jon and his wife, the former Pam Mills of Greenville, have two daughters Raney-Mills and Mary-Crosby. Jon began his career with the Jackson office of KPMG, LLP (formerly Peat Marwick & Mitchell).
