Jon was appointed to the International Secretary Treasurer�s Office of the IBEW, on March 1, 2005, after having served as the International Vice President of the IBEW�s Eighth District since 1982.
Serving as International Vice President, Jon had the administrative responsibilities for the IBEW local unions located in the states of Idaho, Montana, Utah, Colorado and Wyoming.
Jon�s career began in 1960, when he had completed his Inside Apprenticeship Program. He is a member of IBEW Local Union 449, and served as Business Manager of Local 449 since 1977, until being appointed International Vice President.
Brother Walters has served on various committees and appointments:
Co-Chairman of the Council on Industrial Relations, IBEW-NECA for 21 years.
Past member of the Five State Line Apprenticeship Committee representing Idaho.
Past member of the Idaho State Electrical Board for 13 years.
Past Chairman of the Electrical Joint Apprenticeship Training Trust.
He and his wife, Theresa, are natives of Idaho, and have three daughters, three sons-in-law, three grandsons, and one granddaughter to complete the Walters� family.
Jon enjoys many sports activities, including hunting, fishing, golfing and skiing. |
