Jonathan D. Caplan was appointed senior vice president of Genesco in December 2003, adding to his current responsibilities as chief executive officer of Genesco�s Branded Group and president of the Johnston & Murphy division, positions he has held since 2002.
A footwear industry veteran, Caplan joined Genesco from Hi-Tec Sports North America, where he served as president and chief executive officer from 1998 to 2002. In addition, he was with the Stride Rite Corporation from 1992 to 1997 where he was president of its Children�s Group, then later president of its Keds Footwear division. Prior to joining Stride Rite, he was with Genesco from 1982 to 1992 in a variety of executive roles, including president of the Company�s Laredo/Code West boot division.
A graduate of the University of Tennessee, Caplan holds a master of business administration degree from Vanderbilt University. |
