Jonathan Crotty concentrates his practice in employment law and has extensive experience in regulatory and administrative law. He regularly advises clients in employment law issues, including the following:
Federal and North Carolina OSHA compliance, administrative citations and litigation
North Carolina's Wage and Hour Act and the federal Fair Labor Standards Act
EEOC proceedings and litigation under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, including sexual harassment claims
Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990
Family and Medical Leave Act
Mr. Crotty also provides assistance and counseling to employers on a variety of employment matters, including:
Specific personnel actions such as hiring, evaluations, discipline and terminations
Preparation and revision of employee handbooks and employment policies
Preparation of employment contracts, restrictive covenants, executive compensation and confidentiality agreements
Implementation of reductions in force and WARN Act notifications
Review of employment matters in conjunction with corporate merger and acquisition activities
Negotiation and preparation of executive separation agreements
Employment and other legal issues unique to the transportation industry, including contracts, loss and damage disputes and Department of Transportation (DOT) Safety Compliance
In addition, Mr. Crotty frequently lectures and participates in seminars on employment law and compliance issues.
