Jonathan P. Ferrando is responsible for AutoNation's legal and human resources functions. As General Counsel, Jon serves as chief legal advisor for the company and oversees its team of attorneys responsible for all aspects of AutoNation's legal affairs and government relations. Jon's oversight of human resources includes employee and labor relations, recruiting and staffing, performance management, succession planning and development, and executive compensation. Jon also serves as corporate secretary, chief legal advisor to the Board of Directors and Chairman of AutoNation's Business Ethics Committee, as well as advising the company on corporate governance matters. Jon joined AutoNation in July 1996 and served in various capacities within AutoNation's Legal Department. He was appointed General Counsel in January 2000 and assumed responsibility for the human resources function in September 2004.
Prior to joining AutoNation, Mr. Ferrando was a corporate attorney in Chicago, Illinois with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, a corporate law firm. Mr. Ferrando graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor's degree in economics in 1988 and from Harvard Law School in 1991. |
