Jonathan Steckel is a founder and QD Visions Director of Chemistry. He received his PhD in Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2006, where he developed and synthesized new core and core-shell inorganic semiconductor nanocrystals for the creation of hybrid organic/inorganic light-emitting devices. These new nanoparticle materials specifically designed and synthesized to address the needs of QD-LED displays have helped enable the transition of this technology from the lab to an R&D setting. He graduated with high honors in Chemistry from Oberlin College in 2001 and was awarded the Harry N. Holmes Prize for excellence in Chemistry. He has over 10 papers and patent applications in the field of quantum dot LEDs and nanotechnology. |
