Jorge M. Perez is Managing General Partner of The Related Group of Florida. Mr. Perez oversees all of our multifamily development activity in Florida. Prior to co-founding The Related Group of Florida's predecessor, The Related Companies of Florida, Inc., in 1979, he was Vice President and Director of Land Use and Market Services for Landauer Associates and was the coordinator of Community Development for the City of Miami. Mr. Perez has served on the City of Miami Housing Commission, the Governor's Advisory Board on Affordable Housing, the Miami Beach Mayor's Council on Economic Development, the Miami Beach Planning Board and the Dade County Homeless Trust. He also has served as Co-Chairman of Summit of the Americas in 1994. Currently Mr. Perez is Member of Board of Directors of Union Planters Bank, The Miami Art Museum; Advisory Board of the Dade County Cultural Alliance, Member of University of Miami School of Architecture Visiting Committee, member of The University of Miami Board of Trustees, The Miami Downtown Development Authority, member-Directors of FIU Miami Film Festival and Vice-Chair for Miami Dade Cultural Affairs Council.
Mr. Perez also received numerous awards including Citizen of The Year 2004 by The Miami Chamber of Commerce, Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year 2002, Miami Business Leader of The Year 2000 and Multifamily Executive Builder of The Year 2003. Mr. Perez graduated from C. W. Post, Long Island University with a Bachelor's degree in Economics and from the University of Michigan with a Master's degree in Urban Planning. |
