Former Chief Executive Officer of CSN LLC, USA, the U.S. operation of Brazil�s Companhia Sider�rgica Nacional (a steel manufacturing company), from 2001 through 2003. In addition, he served as Executive Officer of the New Business Sector of Companhia Sider�rgica Nacional from June 1999 through 2003, and as its Executive Officer of the Infrastructure/Energy Sector from May 1998 through July 2002. Prior to 2004 and representing CSN�s holdings, Mr. Alves was Chairman of Eletropaulo Metropolitana SA (an electricity distribution company) and MRS Logistica SA (a railway/logistics company), as well as an Alternate Director of Cia Vale do Rio Doce (CVRD). |
