Jose Sanchez is an associate in our public law group. Prior to joining the firm, he clerked at the San Francisco City Attorney's Office, where he researched the Brown Act, California Public Records Act and San Francisco's Sunshine Ordinance in advising the Ethics Commission. He confirmed and corrected the Human Rights Commission's Record Retention Policy.As an intern in the legal department of the San Francisco Unified School District, Jose assisted with school bond issues concerning construction contract procedures and public bid procedures. Additional projects included researching the District's use of surplus and non-surplus lease revenues, the District's need for a disabilities coordinator, termination procedures of employees, and charter school inter-district transfer procedures.Jose received his J.D. from the University of San Francisco, School of Law. Active in several law activities, he was a nominee for the Distinguished Bankruptcy Law Student Award, participated as case counsel for the University of San Francisco's moot court program, received the best oral argument in moot court, participated in Advocate of the Year, tutored for SBA Torts and Academic Support Program Torts, and received the CALI Award for Excellence in Legal Research and Writing. He received his B.A. in Political Science from the University of California at Davis. |
