Joseph A. Califano, Jr. joined our board in 2004. Since 1979, Mr. Califano has served as Chairman and President, National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University. Mr. Califano is an adjunct professor of public health at Columbia University �s Medical School and School of Public Health, and a member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences. Mr. Califano is a director of CBS Corporation (CBS) and Willis Group Holdings, Ltd. Mr. Califano served on the board of Viacom from 2003 until the split of Viacom and CBS in 2005. Among other distinguished government positions, Mr. Califano served as Secretary, U.S. Department of Health, Education & Welfare from 1977 to 1979 and as President Lyndon Johnson�s chief domestic advisor from 1965 to 1969. Mr. Califano is the author of ten books. |
