Joseph A. D'Amico has been chief operating officer of Swift Energy Company since February 8, 2000, and was named executive vice president on August 1, 2000. Reporting to him are the departments of exploration/development; exploration services; acquisitions, dispositions and reserves; production/drilling; and land. Mr. D'Amico previously served as senior vice president of exploration and development (1998-2000), as vice president of exploration and development (1993-1998), and as director of exploration and development (1988-1993). From 1988 until 1992, he was responsible for oversight and management of all oil and gas properties owned by Swift's limited partnerships. Mr. D'Amico has been working in the oil and gas industry since 1970, primarily in reservoir engineering and economic evaluation. He also has experience in year-end reserves analysis, budget preparation, long-range planning, and production engineering. Immediately before joining Swift, he was manager of operations for Newmont Oil Company (1987-1988). In an earlier position he was vice president--engineering for Primary Fuels Inc. (1982-1987), where he directed the reservoir, drilling and production activities, including the planning and implementation of a three-well drilling project in Ghana, West Africa. In these and other positions with Florida Exploration Company, Home Petroleum Company, Michigan-Wisconsin Pipeline Company, and Texaco, he also gained experience in most of the U.S. basins and in Argentina, Cameroon and Angola. Mr. D'Amico holds both a bachelor of science degree and a master of science degree in petroleum engineering from Louisiana State University and a master's degree in finance from the University of Houston. |
