Joseph A. Murray, M.D. is professor of medicine and a consultant gastroenterologist in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester Minnesota. He received his medical training in Ireland and GI training at the University of Iowa, where he founded a celiac disease clinic in 1992. In 1998 he joined the staff of the Mayo clinic, where he runs the celiac disease research and clinical program that focuses on epidemiology, complications and mouse models of gluten sensitivity. His program is supported by the NIH. He has a large clinical practice focused largely on celiac disease and has been elected to the Best doctors in America from 2001-2006. He has served as a consultant to several companies, and has several patents on novel devices for the treatment of GI disorders. He brings to Alvine a wealth of clinical experience as well as broad experience with clinical trials. He is an associate editor of Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology as well as an expert reviewer for many scientific journals. He has published over 100 scientific articles. |
