Joseph C. Scodari is a member of Johnson & Johnson�s Executive Committee and serves as Worldwide Chairman, Pharmaceuticals Group. He was named to this position in March 2005. Mr. Scodari joined the Corporation in October 1999, upon the completion of the merger of Johnson & Johnson and Centocor, Inc. Mr. Scodari originally joined Centocor in 1996 as executive vice president and president of the pharmaceutical division. In 1997 he was appointed president and chief operating officer and a member of the Centocor Board of Directors. Mr. Scodari was named company group chairman in March 2001, with responsibility for Janssen Pharmaceutica, U.S.; Janssen-Ortho Inc., Canada; Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceutical, U.S.; the Global Pharmaceutical Communications functions and the Pharmaceuticals Sourcing Group Americas. He also became a member of the Pharmaceuticals Group Operating Committee. In March, 2003, Mr. Scodari assumed responsibility for the global biopharmaceutical business, including all commercial business units of Centocor, Ortho Biotech Products, L.P., Scios Inc., and Tibotec Therapeutics. He also led the United States President�s Leadership Team in the Company�s pharmaceutical segment. Prior to joining Centocor, Mr. Scodari held positions with Sterling Drug and Rh�ne-Poulenc Rorer Pharmaceuticals (RPR), where he most recently served as senior vice president and general manager, The Americas. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Mr. Scodari received a bachelor of arts degree from Youngstown State University.

He has previously served on the board of directors of Pharmacyclics, Inc., the NPC (National Pharmaceutical Council) board, on the board of The Epilepsy Foundation of America, the board of trustees of the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, and on the board of overseers of the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Mr. Scodari is also a past chairman of the associate member board of the National Wholesale Druggists Association. Mr. Scodari has four adult children, and resides in Pennsylvania with his wife. |
