Mr. Summers coordinates all tax planning, tax return preparation and tax projections for all SBER entities. He negotiates terms, operating and other agreements with Federal and State Tax Credit investors, maintaining tax credit investor relationships and current market knowledge of terms. He works with development directors and construction project managers on the timely drliver of tax credits to investors. He also works with the CFO to coordinate SBER's efforts to make use of New Market Tax Credits as part of the financing for qualifying projects. Joe has also led SBER's efforts to secure Tax Increment Financing for several SBER projects. Since joining SBER, Mr. Summers has handled financing projects such as Tide Point, Stieff Silver Building, Bagby Furniture Building, Can Company, Foundry on Fort, Bond Street Wharf, Clipper Mill, Rising Sun, Brewers Hill, American Tobacco Historic District and American Locomotive Works. Mr. Summers joined SBER as the development accounting manager and has held several positions before assuming director of tax responsibilities. |
