Joseph H. Matzkin practices in the areas of business transactions, formation of business entities, mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions and developments, estate planning and estate administration. His clients are involved in various business enterprises including manufacturing and service businesses, restaurants, food and beverage, concessions, motion picture theater development, commercial development and real estate construction.Joe was born in Waterbury, Connecticut. He was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1970 after receiving his Juris Doctorate from Boston University School of Law in 1969, and Bachelor of Arts from Bates College in 1966. He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Prior to joining Looney & Grossman in 1994, Joe was a member of Roberts, Newman & Katz, PA.Joe has lectured in law at Boston State College, and served as a member of the Volunteer Lawyers to the Arts Panel for the Massachusetts Bar Association. He is a trustee and a member of the Board of Overseers of Bates College. Joe was a member of its Alumni Counsel, and its President for the years 1992 through 1995. In 2006, he was named Massachusetts Super Lawyer. He is a member of the Massachusetts and American Bar Associations, sections on corporate and real estate law, a member of the Massachusetts Conveyancers Association, and a member of the Massachusetts Restaurant Association. Joe served as Managing Partner from 2003-2006. Joe has been a director, coach, and officer of various youth sports in the City of Newton. |
