Dr. Bormel is focused upon developing advanced clinical products incorporating best knowledge management practices to drive patient safety for QuadraMed including the Affinity Healthcare Information System product line. He assumed his position with QuadraMed in August 2001, after having served as a Director and Chief Architect for Medical Measurement and Management System Solutions at Cerner Corporation.
With more than 20 years experience in healthcare technology, Dr. Bormel�s achievements include work to develop and deploy ambulatory and in-patient medical record systems. He is a recognized authority on computerized physician order entry (CPOE) systems and is responsible for designing QuadraMed Affinity CPOE, the cornerstone of QuadraMed�s next generation advanced clinical solutions.
Dr. Bormel earned his Board Certification in Internal Medicine in 1991. His clinical training included Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. He has also completed a Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital directed by the National Institutes of Health in Medical Informatics, earned a Masters of Public Health Degree from Harvard University in Clinical Effectiveness and Health Management, and has advanced standing with the American College of Physician Executives. Additionally, Dr. Bormel has earned non-medical degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Johns Hopkins University. |
