Mr. Canfora, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Merit, has more than 25 years of gaming experience for some of the premier casinos throughout the country and is a gaming executive with proven success in building profitable operations in competitive environments.
Prior to forming Merit Management Group, Canfora served as President of Empress Casinos from 1997-1999 and became President of Horseshoe Gaming, LLC when it acquired Empress in 1999. In his role as President, Canfora oversaw four casino properties in the Chicago markets and in Louisiana and Mississippi. The four properties together employed more than 8,000 people and generated annual revenues in excess of $900 million. |
