Mr. Erhardt concentrates his commercial litigation practice on business, insurance, and construction disputes. He has represented clients in a wide range of matters, including breach of contract, insurance coverage, construction, securities, Uniform Commercial Code sales, distributorship and environmental matters.
In addition to trying cases in state and federal courts, he has litigated matters through the International Chamber of Commerce, the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law, and the American Arbitration Association.

Chief litigation counsel and general counsel for the Michigan Catastrophic Claims Association, a statutory re-insurer comprised of all insurance companies that write no-fault motor vehicle insurance in Michigan
Lead counsel in international arbitration under the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law that resulted in a $13.4 million award on behalf of an energy client for breach of a long-term supply contract
Successfully defended $222 million arbitration claim, brought against an energy client through the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris, and heard in Hong Kong
Trial counsel for defendant re-insurer in multi-million dollar reinsurance coverage dispute brought by an insurance company in Michigan state court, obtaining complete defense verdict
Has represented owners, developers, and general contractors in construction litigation in state and federal courts, arbitrations, and boards of contract appeals
Defended multi-million dollar claim for breach of a distributorship agreement brought by distributor of construction materials in federal court against manufacturer of construction materials, obtaining summary judgment
Represented airplane engine designer and manufacturer in two complex commercial arbitrations and in supplier dispute in federal court under the Uniform Commercial Code
Successfully defended publicly-held company in securities fraud arbitration conducted through the American Arbitration Association, and heard in Chicago
Represented energy client in several environmental contribution matters relating to releases of environmental contaminants
