Joseph L. Luvara is a shareholder of Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote, P.C. He concentrates his practice in the area of Civil Litigation, with a particular emphasis in Automobile Accident Litigation and Insurance Litigation, including Bad Faith Litigation. He has litigated hundreds of cases in both federal and state courts and on both the trial and appellate levels. Mr. Luvara is a member of the Pennsylvania and West Virginia Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals, Superior Court of the District of Columbia, District of Columbia Court of Appeals, United States Court of Appeals for the Third and Fourth Circuits, and United States Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County, the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel, and the Allegheny County Bar Association - Civil Litigation Section. Mr. Luvara graduated from Point Park College in 1971 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History. He received his J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law in 1986, cum laude. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Luvara served as a Law Clerk for Judge Joseph H. Ridge of the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County. He is a former school teacher and was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship. Mr. Luvara is a frequent lecturer on Automobile Law, Insurance Law, and Bad Faith. In addition, Mr. Luvara is active in the Fulbright Fellowship Alumni Association, the School Board of Seton-LaSalle High School, the St. Louise de Marillac Athletic Board, and is active in coaching youth athletic teams. |
