Joseph P. Landy is Co-President of Warburg Pincus LLC, where he has been engaged in all aspects of private equity investing since 1985. He is jointly responsible for the management of the firm, including the formulation of strategy, oversight of investment policy and decisions, leadership of the firm's executive management committee and the coordination of limited partner communications. Since joining the firm, his principle areas of investment focus have been information technology, Internet applications and infrastructure, communications applications and structured investments. Notable investments in which Mr. Landy played an active role include: Avaya, Level One Communications, Nova Information Systems, Covad Communications, CN Biosciences, SynQuest and Neustar. A former President of the Venture Investors Association of New York, Mr. Landy is a Trustee of the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute and of the Williamstown Art Conservation Center. He is a director of Avaya, Telcordia Technologies, The Cobalt Group and MicroVest, an investment fund focused on microfinance institutions in developing countries. Mr. Landy holds a B.S. degree in economics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. from The Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University. He is a frequent speaker at industry events concerning the many aspects of private equity and venture capital investing. |
