In his current position of senior vice president and chief marketing officer Joe Foley is responsible for corporate marketing and communications. In addition he also oversees the company's reinsurance operations and serves as the managing director of Duncanson & Holt Syndicate Management Duncanson & Holt Europe and Duncanson & Holt Underwriters Ltd.
Mr. Foley joined the company in 1978 in the sales organization and has held a variety of sales and sales management positions. In 1995 Mr. Foley assumed responsibility for Unum's life and health business. Subsequently he served as executive vice president of operations for Unum America headed reinsurance and special operations and been responsible for market and product development.
He currently serves as chairman of the Maine Compact for Higher Education and is a member of the board of directors for two additional non-profit organizations; Mercy Hospital and the Cancer Community Center.
He received his bachelor's degree in political science from the College of the Holy Cross in 1977. |
