Joseph Young Kim is an associate in Milbank's Hong Kong office and a member of the firm's Global Project Finance Group. He has extensive experience in project and other financing transactions, cross-border mergers and acquisitions of corporations and financial institutions and in private equity transactions.
Joseph has advised Korean, European and Australian lenders in ship and bank financing transactions. He has also advised on major M&A transactions including Fila Korea's purchase of the Fila Group, Valeo's investment in Samsung Climate Control, The Carlyle Group's acquisition of KorAm Bank, sale of Sammi Steel to INI Steel and El Paso Energy's investment in Hanwha Energy Corporation.
Prior to joining Milbank, Joseph was with Shin & Kim, Korea for two years, and before that he was In house Counsel (Private Equity) for Touchstone Capital Partners in Korea.
Joseph received his J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he was an editor of the Harvard International Law Journal, and his B.A. from Wesleyan University. He was also a Baldwin Scholar, a Charles Ray Scholar and a winner of the Sherman Prize. He is fluent in spoken and written Korean. |
