As Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Isabel Healthcare, Inc., Dr. Joseph Britto brings more than 15 years of extensive medical knowledge to the company. Dr. Britto earned his Doctorate in Pediatrics in 1990 from the medical school at Bombay University. Three years later, as a Fellow and Lecturer at Imperial College School of Medicine at St. Mary's Hospital, Dr. Britto developed and validated England's first model of specialized inter-hospital transport of critically ill children. This resulted in greatly improved outcomes of hundreds of critically ill children transported each year. Dr. Britto's distinguished career continued and in 1996 he was recognized with the prestigious appointment of Attending Physician and Senior Lecturer. As a leading member of the pediatric intensive care team, Dr. Britto brought about dramatic reductions in the mortality rate of life threatening infections in critically ill children.
After caring for Isabel Maude in 1999, Dr. Britto co-founded Isabel Healthcare with Jason Maude and conceived the structure of the Isabel clinical diagnosis decision support system. Committed to leading the clinical, development and technical aspects of Isabel Healthcare, Dr. Britto chose to leave his distinguished clinical and academic career.
Dr. Britto has published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers and lectured extensively about pediatric critical care, life threatening infections, diagnosis errors and diagnosis decision support.
