D. Joseph Gersuk became a member of the Ellis Hospital Board of Trustees in June 2004. Currently, he serves as chairman of the board. He also serves as chairman of the board's Executive and Joint Conference Committees, and as a member of the Audit, Finance, Governance and Executive Compensation Committees and the Investment Subcommittee.
Mr. Gersuk is a private investor and community volunteer. He has provided leadership to various community organizations, including The Albany Academy for Girls in Albany , NY , where he currently serves as a trustee, treasurer and Finance Committee chair. Mr. Gersuk is a past director of American Bio Medica Corporation in Kinderhook , NY , and a former Treasurer of the Schuyler Meadows Club in Loudonville , NY .
Mr. Gersuk's career has spanned 25 years in the private sector, primarily in the field of finance. He has served as chief financial officer of three technology companies: DataEase Sapphire International, a database software company in Trumball , CT ; MapInfo Corporation, a Troy , NY company that develops and distributes PC-based spatial visualization software and solutions on a worldwide basis; and ReQuest Multimedia, a Malta , NY company that develops and sells digital media servers for the home entertainment market. Mr. Gersuk's experience also includes a broad financial and operating background in domestic and international businesses. He formerly held financial positions with the Ford Motor company in Dearborn , MI and MCI Communications Corporation in Washington , D.C.
After graduating from The United States Naval Academy, Mr. Gersuk served as a naval officer for five years, during which time he earned a M.B.A. in finance from The American University and achieved the rank of lieutenant. |
