Joseph Jimenez is CEO of Novartis Pharma AG. Prior to this appointment in October 2007, he led the Novartis Consumer Health Division which comprises the OTC (Over-The-Counter), Animal Health and CIBA Vision Business Units. He joined Novartis in April 2007. He previously served as a non-executive director of AstraZeneca plc from 2002 to 2007, and before joining Novartis was an advisor for the private equity organization Blackstone Group. Joseph Jimenez, who is American, began his career at The Clorox Company and later served as president of two operating divisions at ConAgra. His assignments included increasing levels of responsibility in brand management and key marketing positions for leading consumer brands in the US. In 1998 he joined the H.J. Heinz Company, one of the world�s leading marketers and producers of food products, and was named President and Chief Executive Officer of the North America business. He later
served from 2002 to 2006 as President and Chief Executive of Heinz in Europe. Joseph Jimenez graduated with a BA degree from Stanford University in 1982, where he was a collegiate all-American swimmer. In 1984 he gained an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley. |
