Joseph Russello earned his Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from Gettysburg College in 1998, and his Juris Doctor degree from Hofstra University School of Law in 2001. While in law school, Mr. Russello served as a legal intern for the law department of one of the largest townships in New York State, as well as a New York-based boutique litigation firm specializing in the litigation of complex commercial, professional liability, and other matters.
Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Russello became an associate at the litigation firm with which he had interned, where he handled all aspects of trial and appellate practice in New York state and federal courts. After working at that firm for approximately three years, Mr. Russello joined a New York-based law firm with a national presence, where he defended attorneys and other professionals in a wide array of malpractice and other actions. While there, Mr. Russello also assisted in the evaluation and resolution of complex insurance coverage matters, including a matter that involved the mutual fund "market timing" and "late trading" controversy.
After working at that firm for approximately two years, Mr. Russello joined Coughlin Stoia, where he litigates a broad range of securities and consumer fraud class actions, as well as shareholder derivative lawsuits, in state and federal courts across the country.
Mr. Russello is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in New York.
