Dr. Tauro is an Orthopedic Surgeon and Sports Medicine sub-specialist in private practice at Community Medical Center, Toms River, New Jersey. He has served as the Chairman of the department of Orthopedic Surgery, as a member of the Executive Committee and Operating Room Advisory Committee at Community Medical Center. He is Board Certified: Diplomate, American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Tauro is an Assistant Clinical Professor, Department of Orthopedic Surgery, at New Jersey Medical School. He is a member of Learning Center Committee, Arthroscopy Association of America. He has held, for the past several years, the position of Master Instructor of Shoulder Arthroscopy for the Arthroscopy Association of North America. Dr. Tauro was one of the first developers of the technique of arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, the first repair being performed in 1992 and was the first surgeon to publish the results of arthroscopic repair in a peer reviewed journal (Journal of Arthroscopy 1998). He maintains one of the largest databases of arthroscopic rotator cuff repairs in the world. Dr. Tauro was also one of the pioneers of the repair of massive rotator cuff tears, with the latest data published in the Journal of Arthroscopy. He has authored several other articles on the topics of repair and techniques associated with arthroscopic rotator cuff repair and arthroscopic reconstruction of the unstable shoulder. |
