Joe Yang is a nationally recognized authority on intellectual property law. Before Cryptography Research, Joe co-founded and subsequently led the IP transactions practice at the Palo Alto office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, one of the world's preeminent law firms, where he served as lead or co-lead IP counsel for over one hundred technology mergers & acquisitions, including HP-Compaq, Yahoo-Inktomi, and many others. Joe co-chairs the annual "Advanced Licensing Agreements" course for the Practising Law Institute, and teaches at its "Patents and High Technology Licensing" and "How to Prepare and Conduct Markman Hearings" seminars. He has also taught "Patent Law and Policy" at U.C. Berkeley School of Law as an adjunct professor. Before becoming an attorney, Joe was a research engineer in the aerospace/defense and energy industries. Joe holds a J.D. from Stanford, and a Ph.D. in engineering from Caltech. |
