Dr. Joyce F. Brown became a member of the board of directors in June 2006. Dr. Brown is president of the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), a specialized college of art and design, business, and technology of the State University of New York. Prior to her appointment at FIT in 1998, Dr. Brown was Professor of Clinical Psychology at the Graduate School and University Center of the City University of New York (CUNY), where she is currently Professor Emerita. From 1983 to 1992, Dr. Brown served CUNY in a variety of capacities, including acting President of Bernard Baruch College and Vice Chancellor for Urban Affairs and Development. From 1993 to 1994, Dr. Brown served as Deputy Mayor for Public and Community Affairs in the Office of the Mayor of the City of New York. In addition to her position at FIT, Dr. Brown serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Educational Foundation for the Fashion Industries, an advisory and support body to FIT. She is also a director of Paxar Corporation, Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation and USEC Inc. Dr. Brown earned her doctorate and master�s degrees in Counseling Psychology from New York University and her bachelor�s degree from Marymount College in Tarrytown, New York. She also received a certificate from the Institute for Educational Management at Harvard University. |
