Joyce concentrates in employee benefits, ERISA, estate planning and probate, charitable planning, business succession planning and elder law. She works extensively with clients in the selection and implementation of welfare benefit plans, qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, deferred compensation arrangements, qualified and non-qualified stock options, and employee stock ownership plans. Additionally, she assists clients in the claims review process and represents numerous clients in their capacity as fiduciaries of ERISA plans. Joyce's estate planning and probate practice includes income and estate tax planning, succession planning for the closely-held business owner, drafting of wills, trusts, and powers of attorney, administration of estates for decedents, minors, and protected persons, and the representation of clients in will contests and trust litigation. She was admitted to practice in Hawaii in 1982 and Colorado in 1984. She is admitted before the United States District Courts, Districts of Colorado and Hawaii and the United States Courts of Appeals, Ninth and Tenth Circuits. Joyce received her Master of Law in Taxation from the University of Denver Graduate Tax Program in 1983. She received her Juris Doctor from Hastings College of the Law, University of California, in 1982 and her Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Hawaii in 1978. |
