Jozeph Forakis was born in New York City. He received a BFA degree in industrial design from Rhode Island School of Design and a Masters in industrial design from the Domus Academy.
In 1993 he established Milan-based "studio forakis". Recent activities include strategic design research, product design and development for LG Electronics, Swatch; product design for Magis, Foscarini and Nava Design; and design research for Philips. From 1999-2002 he was European Design Director for Motorola, where he developed design language, strategy, new product designs, and advanced concept programs.
His work has been featured in many publications and exhibited in several museums including the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, the Tokyo Gas Showroom, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York, where his work now forms part of the permanent collection. |
