Judith Bishop is United's vice president-Customer Contact Center. She is based at the company's operations center in suburban Chicago.
Named to the position in April 2006, Bishop is responsible for creating an experience tailored to specific customer needs across all United customer contact centers, while lowering costs. Prior to this position, she served as vice president-Worldwide Reservations beginning July 2003, where she was responsible for worldwide reservations strategy, Mileage Plus� operations and customer relations.
In July 1999, Bishop was named vice president of Atlantic in London accountable for United�s Atlantic passenger and cargo sales and airport operations, as well as Middle East and Africa sales. In June 1995, she was named vice president of North America Sales and was accountable for more than $10 billion in revenue generation. Bishop was also responsible for business market development, travel agency and corporate relations, national accounts and sales planning. She has served in a variety of managerial positions in the areas of reservations, onboard service, marketing and sales at United. Bishop joined United in 1966.
She holds a bachelor�s degree in political science from Northern Illinois University. From 1995 to 2000, she served as an executive board member for the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau, and from 1996 to 2000, she served as a member of the Businesswomen�s Leadership Council of the Chicago Foundation for Women. Bishop also served as an executive member of the British and American Chamber of Commerce from 1999 to 2003. She has been recognized four times as one of the Most Powerful Women in Travel by Travel Agent. |
