Julie Teicher joined the firm in 1983 and has been a shareholder of the Firm since 1991. Her practice area is concentrated in the area of debtors' and creditors' rights, in both business and consumer bankruptcy and general insolvency matters. Ms. Teicher has had extensive experience representing debtors, creditors and creditors' committees in business reorganization cases. She also has had extensive experience representing Chapter 7 trustees, and has acted as a receiver in state court and other insolvency matters. Ms. Teicher also represents institutional lenders as creditors in consumer bankruptcy matters (both Chapter 13 and Chapter 7 cases). She has significant experience in out-of-court workouts for both business and consumer debtors. Ms. Teicher is a certified bankruptcy court mediator. Ms. Teicher is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, Federal Bar Association, Bankruptcy Section, and the former co-chair of that section. She is a member of the Eastern District of Michigan Bankruptcy Bench Bar Committee and is also admitted to practice in the Federal District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. |
