Julie A. Murphy, a principal in LECG's Washington, DC office, has nearly a decade of consulting experience within network industries including: electricity, telecommunications, and railroad transportation. She has completed a broad range of economic and financial analyses in these industries such as market analyses, pricing and costing analyses, contract review and interpretation, damages assessment, and antitrust analyses for testimony before regulatory agencies and within commercial litigations. Ms. Murphy has testified on matters involving analyses of competition within wholesale electric utility markets in the context of applications for market-based rate authority. She has proffered testimony on long-term fuel supply projections for coal-fired generating plants, including: evaluations of power plant operation and performance, fuel supply decisions and assessment of different types of new electric generating capacity and prospective rail transportation rates. Within the telecommunications industry, Ms. Murphy has testified on the determination of forward looking costs under the Telecommunications Act of 1996, embedded costs, universal service and other economic issues and has quantified economic damages in commercial disputes regarding breach of contract claims. Ms. Murphy holds an MA in economics from Penn State University. |
