PRO: Junior Glymph was signed by the Dallas Cowboys off the Atlanta Falcons practice squad on Dec. 13, 2005. As a young and experienced lineman, he will be battling for a spot on the roster this season while also transitioning from defensive end to outside linebacker in the 3-4 defensive scheme.
2005: Glymph re-signed with the Atlanta Falcons at the beginning of the offseason but was released at the end of training camp. He immediately signed to the Falcons practice squad and spent the first 13 weeks of the season bouncing between the active roster and practice squad, posting five tackles in three games. He made his season debut at Seattle (9/18) and also saw action at Buffalo (9/25) before returning to the practice squad. He re-signed to the active roster prior to the game against Tampa Bay (11/20) then was released Nov. 23 and re-signed to the practice squad Nov. 28 before landing in Dallas. He was inactive the final three games of the season for Dallas.
2004: Glymph signed with the Green Bay Packers as a rookie free agent after the 2004 NFL Draft. He was released by the Packers on July 29 but signed to the Atlanta Falcon's practice squad on Aug. 5. Glymph signed to the Falcons active roster and made his NFL debut against San Diego (10/17) where he posted his first career sack in addition to four tackles. He added a tackle at Kansas City (10/24) before seeing his last action of the season against Oakland (12/12).
COLLEGE: Glymph was a four-year letterman at Carson-Newman where he started 25 games and posted 173 tackles and 27 sacks. He earned All-South Atlantic Conference honors three times. As a senior, Glymph registered 44 tackles, 11 sacks, two forced fumbles and a blocked kick. He notched 57 tackles and eight sacks as a junior. Glymph was granted a medical redshirt in 2001 after being injured (ankle) in the team's first game. As a sophomore, he posted 36 tackles and seven sacks following a redshirt freshman campaign.
PERSONAL: Glymph was a standout three-sport athlete at Newberry, S.C., High School where he lettered in football, basketball and track. As a team captain during his senior prep campaign, Glymph was named all-region and received the Best Blocking Award. Glymph has become involved in the community since coming to Dallas including attending the MDA Muscle Team Bash hosted by former Cowboy and FOX Sports announcer Daryl Johnston. Clarence Glymph II received a degree in exercise sciences from Carson-Newman. |
