Dr. Lavin is associate chairman and associate program director for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and chief of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Akron General Medical Center. He is also the co-director of the Akron Regional Perinatal Center and co-director of Akron Fetal Diagnostics.
Dr. Lavin received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1975 and completed a fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in 1981. He is also a professor with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in Rootstown, Ohio. He also has numerous publications in professional journals and is regarded as a national expert in his specialty of Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
